Reiki is a very calming energy

Reiki is a very calming energy. As we move through our day, there will be moments when life throws us an emergency, almost as a way to find out how we will deal with it. I recall breaking down one day on the way to work and getting out of the car and kicking it as if it were its fault that something had broken and the car could not continue working. I had frustration and anger that my plans for the day had been interrupted.

Today, I have Reiki in my life. I am attuned and experienced with it and my Reiki and also Shaman guides. Naturally, they give me relaxation and calmness in dealing with those little emergencies that disrupt our day, or days.

Today, many years later, I was on the way to take the car into a mechanic, different car from the previous one! It was due to have a fault diagnosed which I wanted him to repair. The car broke down on the way to the mechanic’s shop and the company I called to tow my car, also had a break down which delayed their response to rescuing me.

Reiki helped me stay calm and not to worry, not to become distraught and most of all not to get angry at a situation I could not change. Above all I had a feeling of Gratitude.

Gratitude because the break down happened at the moment I could still coax the car around a corner into a side street. I had not stopped in a busy street; I had not disrupted the lives of all the other people driving behind me by making the go around me. Most of all the break down had not resulted in an accident.

Most of all though, as I sat in the car waiting for the tow truck, I had control of my ego and my busy mind. My ego is not allowed to dwell on feelings of inadequacy that I am sitting in a car that has broken down. Even the most expensive cars break down, there is nothing wrong with the fact my car has failed.

My busy mind was not allowed to churn with all its thoughts, worries, complaints, doubts, and fears that create scenarios that soon spiral out of control in the way it likes to. I was safe, so were all the other people on the busy road and I had somewhere dry and warm to stay in as I waited.

I am deeply grateful for Reiki. It gives me calmness and peace of mind. It gives me control of my ego, my busy worrying mind.

Reiki Universal Energy

Reiki, universal energy. It, has and always will be there for us and through our different levels of attunement, we become stronger and better conduits for Reiki Energy to flow through us.

Reiki symbols are there for us at different stages of attunement to help us be that conduit and pass Reiki energy to people we are providing sessions for. If as we progress and practice more, we find the symbols are not required, do not worry. Reiki energy is intelligent and will work with us with or without symbols, it will focus on the recipient through our intention to help.

Being out in nature allows us to connect with the essential energy of growing plants, animals and all living things provide by Mother Earth, Gaia.

The core of what is provided are the five spiritual elements, Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Spirit or Space. These are elements are also those that Tibetan and Mongolian Shaman honor and respect.

Connecting with these elements requires a moment of preparation. Find a spot, among nature, which could be your back yard, a park, a hiking trail, a nature walk by a lake. It may even be a small patch of green in the city that you can retreat to at lunch time.

Clear your mind, your thoughts with a deep cleansing breath. Inhale slowly and fully without straining. Repeat as often as needed to help you relax and feel any thoughts, concerns, distractions fading away. As you relax, you will feel Reiki energy start to flow.

Now walk around in nature, being present to the experience of the elements

Earth Element

In the past I have gone to a bench close by a large lake, there are plentiful benches to sit and quietly retrospect. In the summer I will take of my sandals and sit with my bare feet on the ground. As I concentrate on the grounding effect of connecting to the earth element under my feet and the earth element within myself, it feels as if the soles of my feet are growing roots into the ground. I am deeply connecting to the earth. I feel the grounding effect move up my legs and give me stability. There have been times when perhaps I should not have taken of my shoes, it being too cold for sandals. Still, I put my bare feet on the ground but somehow, the it is not cold, or wet.

Water Element

The bench is beside a very large lake. As I sit and watch, I see the turbulent water when the wind is strong, I hear the lake lapping at the shoreline and the rocks. I have been a scuba diver in that lake so I know that even when the surface is turbulent, deeper down the water is still and calm. Water is comforting, even when it is turbulent because it is fascinating to watch. It wraps itself around you and gives a feeling of being solid even when it is flowing all around you. On a calm day the surface is relaxing and comforting. As we lean back off the dive boat and fall in it moves around us and accepts us. Bring these qualities into ourselves. Being late for a meeting, being in an argument are not things to upset the element of water within us.

Fire Element

That same bench by the lake has allowed me to drink in the warm sunlight. The sunlight, especially early in the morning gifts a feeling of warmth and energy that soaks in through the skin. If my blood is not warm, it is after it has passed over my hands, arms, legs and face which are all turned towards the rising run. There is a sensation within my body that it is being supercharged. Nerves are firing and my heat starts to engage my sense of growth and maturity. I let my mind think about creative things, things I can use my talents and feelings to perfect and grow. There are things that need to be burned away. Relationships that are over but have not “ended” are ended in eth fire of the sun and what it brings within me as I use that huge fire internally to energize myself. At the end of sitting there and absorbing and internalizing all this energy, I feel as though I have had a spiritual shower.

Air Element

The same lake and benches allow me to experience the element Air. The lake is 53 miles wide [85 KM] where I am sitting so there is plenty of space, another element, for the winds to gather and blow. I have sat there and seen the wind push the surface of the water element into waves and then blow the tips of the waves in white caps. I watch the birds flying on the air currents and marvel at their mastery of the insubstantial but powerful winds. When the breezes are gentle and mild, they push the water element slightly against the shore line. I bring the lightness and unbounded nature of wind into myself as flexibility that encourages me to move beyond negative thoughts and obstacles, just as the birds fly casually through the winds.

Space

Because the lake is so large at that point, I cannot see the other side. So, like an ocean the sky seems bigger than I see out of my windows. It is open, big, clear, blue, and seems to be all around me and dissolve me into it. I am so surprised at how much I can see and feel. Anger, fear, desire, worry, all disappear into the immensity of the sky, the space element. I absorb these feeling into myself, they help me grow and at the same time be collected and cool.

I am lucky to have this wonderful resource so close by that I can visit it often. Always thank the elements for being where you have been exploring and absorbing their unique values. In a Buddhist view, giving tanks like this earns merit, not just for giving thanks, but for recognizing, enjoying, and being open and aware to the qualities of the external elements and bringing them within me, to join with the elements in me, and heal and make myself better and help me on my spiritual path.

Focusing on myself though is one part of gathering merit. Also, make a wish, a deeply felt one, that all beings, human or animal, are freed from suffering and can share the bounty I have just received and taken into myself.

Sentient Being in Each Element

To the shaman, each of the five elements contains independent, living, sentient spirits. They are non-physical beings with whom he can make contact. The spirits may support us, deny us, or be neutral. Purchasing land, buying plants, caring for a pet all bring us into contact with the spirits of that element or that animal or plant.

When a bird makes a nest in a tree, they are building their, that is where they will bring up their family just as we look to the land with the intent of building our home to raise our family. The bird will fight other birds for the nesting space and their nest. There are insects, fish and burrowing animals that also look to the land for their home. They will also fight for the right to retain their space, their art of that land.

Cutting down the tree, smashes the birds’ home, destroys its eggs and kill its young. Bulldozing the ground destroys the burrows of animals that nest underground. Yet these are physical beings we can see and hear, the non-physical beings we do not. Yet they have the ability to hinder the building process or make it go smoothly. A hinderance from the Earth Element might be unexpected problems with the ground, rocks or underground streams which indicates the water element is unhappy as well. Disagreements, accidents or illness in the construction team. If great progress in construction is made and the team is energized and working well together, we can say everything is going smoothly.

To assist with construction of the house for example, connecting with, explaining and asking for permission before changing the ground, the trees, and the water and animals in, under and on the land, we have just purchased. And don’t forget, a new house consumes space, and changes the way wind blows across the land where we have built. The deities and spirits for these elements will also need to be considered, and engaged with.

After we have made the changes we planned, a ritual of thanks, it can be held quietly by ourselves is very appropriate. Never forget to say thank you to the spirits and deities we have had dealings with.

Developing this sensitivity and appreciation of the elements, deities and spirits is part of each our journeys to recognizing the planet is both alive and it is sacred.

Shamanism and Reiki

Shamanism and Reiki are powerful healing forces available to the Shaman/Reiki practitioner. When combined, their power multiplies, and healing methods become available that aren’t accessible when used separately.

Cave paintings in Europe dating from the Palaeolithic era[1] show Shamans along with the natural world in which they practised as healers, and protectors of the tribes they belonged to. In 2006, in Northern Israel, the grave of a Shaman was discovered. She lived in the late Natufian era (10,800-9,500 BCE).[2]

Shamans are practiced in and have extensive connection with the natural world for the shaman, man, animals, plants, rocks, wind, rain, sun, stars, and moon are alive with Spirits.

Shamans were traditional tribal healers, Anthropologists coined the term and use it to refer to the spiritual and ceremonial leaders among indigenous cultures worldwide. Shamanism[3][4] is used to describe ancient spiritual practices in indigenous cultures, it is a spiritual and psycho-therapeutic healing technique. It is a world-wide religious phenomenon, considered by many anthropologists to be the most ancient and fundamental form of spiritual practice in human life. Although Shamanism is not present today in all societies, it can be found in many at all levels of complexity and sophistication across the world. [5]

The definition of Shaman in the Urban Dictionary[6] is:

… One who can interact and mediate with the spirit world on behalf of their community, usually by ecstatic trance techniques (That is their spirit/soul leaves their physical body in order to travel to a world of pure spirit rather than physical matter) for the purposes of divination, foretelling the future, information gathering, healing and to receive wisdom.

The Shamans World view is of realms or domains That correspond with:

The Lower Realm:

The Lower realm is creation, traditionally called, the Underworld. It plays a big role in the ancient Egyptian and Greek mythologies. Later, with the development centralised religions such as Christianity, it was transformed into Hell and a place of punishment, pain and burning. Shaman s visiting the lower Realm may experience variations of level of depth according to their helping spirits and guides.

The Middle or Physical Realm

The Middle World is the world in which we live. It is what we sense with our senses. The Middle Realm is the realm of the physical and a realm in which each night we go to sleep and dream so it is sometimes referred to the dream world. It is a world of emotions and desires, like water which represents the middle realm, there is a continuous flow of energy from birth to death. Because the realm is represented by water, which is formless without a container, the Middle Realm is also a container.

The Middle Realm container, also holds subtle unseen earthly powers and magical forces. All growing things, rivers, trees, insects, animals, and solid things such as mountains and rocks all have spirits. Gravity and electrical energy are spirits, as is the air we breathe which like water is formless also.

In the Upper Realm

This is the real of the dead or ancestors. It is also the realm of angels, gods and spiritual teachers. As with the Lower Realm, Shaman may experience many subtle levels in this realm.

Many cultures count more than one level at this world, as many as ninety-nine.

The Upper World is symbolized by the Air element. This realm represents thoughts, ideas, light and inspiration. In the Greek Mythology the Upper World is ruled by Zeus, the king of the Gods. Shamans journey to this world to obtain knowledge from ancestors’ spirits and the dead.

The Buddhist texts Dr. Mikao Usui studied in Tibet were based on recording Shamanic and Bon religious knowledge and practices. The Reiki symbols do not exist in Shamanism or Bon. They are primarily Buddhist in nature.

To add Shamanic energy to your Reiki sessions you first need some practice. Practice in experiencing the ecstatic trance states and states of altered consciousness, Shamans journey across the three realms connecting with the spirit of living and inanimate things to bring knowledge and healing energy to benefit the sick or protect and clear darker energies from a place or person.

Draw the curtains of your bedroom and ay down on the bed. Place your hands over your heart and concentrate on your beating heart. It has a rhythm and will slow down and become less active as your become at peace with your world, this world, the middle realm.

Be clear in your mind about the goals and intentions of your practice. Be clear in your mind as to what your intention is, say it in your mind or even out loud. Say it to your helping spirits. Helping spirts may take many forms, do not judge them, not criticize them. Most of all do not judge the power they have.

Allow the time to benefit you so that when you journey for a person who needs healing, you will be able to help them more effectively. This is a time of growing and progress for yourself. Allow yourself to grow, grow in all directions. When you converse with your helping spirits and any ancestor spirits you encounter, ask how you can develop your relationship with them and the use the information to do so.

Later, the answer to your question will be directed and used in healing. As you become at peace, clear your energetic mind of the ego wishes and busy frantic mind. What do you experience when your mind is clear of all these distractions?

If you meet spirits and souls, animals, trees and rocks ask if they have a message or information for you. Whether they do or not be thankful for them and of them.

As you become more experienced, you will be able to direct your shamanic journeying and you will interact with your helping spirits who are there to work you and for you. Journeying part of meditation and can be incorporated in to meditation sessions.

A shaman incorporates, drumming, rattles, and an elaborate costume into their practice and ceremonies. Costumes are not essential for adding Shamanic Energy to a Reiki session.

Journeying to the Upper and Lower Realms and connecting with teachers, helping spirits and our guides helps us understand ourselves, our past lives and the events in them. We have had mistaken, injuries, injustices some of which have created blockages to our current physical existence. Use the information you gather on your journey to release them. Write them down and formally release them.

Soul Retrieval is important to a Shaman. Trauma or pain, an accident, or loss of a loved one, or something that it is beneficial to us, such as surgery, can cause a part of our soul to become detached out of fright and fear. The Shaman must journey, find and retrieve and reintegrate what has been found with the persons soul.

If the person is aware something will happen in the future, such as surgery, the shaman may help the soul adjust to what will happen before it takes place. In this way the soul is not shocked and split as a result.

A Vision Board…

A vision board is a creative way to visualize the things you desire to manifest in your life.

Over the years I have created many vision boards, including ones that are text only. Some are image only and one that used software and payed back images and text as a “video.”

The intention behind the vision board is that by creating it you solidify in your mind what you want to manifest. It is an act of reinforcement and communicating your desires to your angels and guides.

Vision boards can be for any purpose. The three big questions and desires most of us have are health, wealth, and happiness.

Wealth, a pot of gold! I envisaged wealth as a pot of gold, and where do you find post of gold usually? At the end of a rainbow. So, I found images of rainbows and pots of gold, I even printed out the claim form of a lottery corporation and put them all together on my vision board.

Health, for health I printed out pictures of myself when I was a lot less heavy and in better health. I watched YouTube videos of landscape photographers hiking long distances to take their images and wished to have good health and to be able to walk long distances like they did and photograph landscapes.

Happiness, means a female companion. I printed images of women that had the style or type that I felt I could live and like as a companion.

The images were all glossy, clean and I have a magnetic clip board so I could put them up in combinations that seemed to speak my needs and intentions at the time.

However, desires are not stand alone needs, they interconnect with each other. Wealth would change my life styles, health and relationships, without recognizing them as being connected, I would not see how my life would change if each of them, or all of them were fulfilled.

Some will recommend that a vision board be very specific. A wedding wring with a particular stone setting might be desirable, but if your intended partner provides something different, accept it and do not be disappointed that the image has not turned into reality. It is the appearance of a ring that is important, not its style.

My most recent vision board has no immaculate images, it is all on one large sheet of paper, and rather than pictures of rainbows and pots of gold etc., it is hand drawn with stick figures and crude shapes.

As I drew each for my vision board I realized there were smaller things that needed to be included. With a companion I take a much needed and better holiday than going on my own.

I drew a circle around each and showed how each connected to the other and those all connected to something else, rather like laces that close a shoe, the connections closed the small and big pictures into a whole.

I appear in each circle as a simple stick figure with the word ‘Happy’ next to me.

Things like health are indicated by simple words, ‘fit, trim, and healthy.’ The earlier board with images of me as I was in the past did not represent the now or the future. I am not interested I trying to relive or recreate an old me, I am interested in the new me that will come into existence.

The vision board in the end should not be perfect, it is the unexpected that brings amazing things to our lives. The risk of a perfect vision board is that what we receive may not match what we see on the wall. Remember to be accepting and not disappointed because life did not live up to a perfect image. Most definitely, do not ignore what is given to you.

Episode 1: Remote Reiki Healing session

This is a remote Reiki Session for Dave. A remote Reiki session is for people who cannot be present in person to receive the healing Reiki energy. In this session, Candice and Opame, two of my guides join with me to perform the Reiki session as if the recipient were present.

If you are in need fo healing Reiki energy and are open to receive it, you will receive Reiki energy and the benefits it brings.

Episode 2: Reiki with Candice, Mark and Opame – two quick tips

This episode talks about hand positions in Reiki, specifically Gassho. What does it mean, how do you do it and why.

The video also describes how to bets clear energy or etheric cords. There are many ways to do it, but I feel the best way is to engage Archangel Michael, the warrior Archangel and his ability to cut and destroy the cords which may be attached to you. How and when do cut cords is also discussed.
