Unhealthy Relationships

The word relationship can mean a connection by blood or marriage, the latter is the usually understood reference. Relationships can be deep and intense; they can be short-lived or last a lifetime. Relationships may be friendships. Relationships do not have to be deep, sexual, or defined by being or doing things together regularly. We all, well most of us, have someone in our lives that we may not see for months or years and yet when we connect again, we can pick up where we left off with no explanation.

The people I your life, the relationships they represent, should be supportive, pleasing and encouraging. They are there to help, not hurt you. The challenges a relationship brings should expand and help you grow in your appreciation for, and connection to, others.

But there is always the question that needs to be asked, is whether a relationship is good for you, and Reiki can help you answer this.

If you are attuned to Reiki. Take a quiet moment to sit quietly. If you are in nature, that is the best of all, away from people and in contact with birds, animals and all growing things. Special to nature are the nature angels that work with the environment to help everything grow.

Once you are quiet, spend a moment to welcome and feel the sun on your face and the breeze blowing. Think of the Reiki symbols you know, especially the power symbol that adds energy to your intentions. Now, think about your relationships. Friends, lovers, caregivers, people you know and interact with regularly. Ask yourself the question, “Is this person good for me?” and be honest about your answer. It may come quickly sometimes, slowly in others, and with others you may just be comfortable, accommodating. By that I mean there is nothing received or gained from the relationship, but there is nothing draining your energy either.

When you ask this question of yourself, the obvious negative relationships standout, but you may also encounter the relationships that are not active any longer. Do not see the person; have no contact with them and no desire to do so, but you have not given up and moved on from them. Look at old emails and letters. Old pictures come to your mind and the days and conditions when they drained your energies. They were critical, not encouraging. Hurt you with comments that made you unhappy with your efforts to complete something.

A bright sunny day might not be just that you still. It may be a remembrance of a sunny day when you went out with that person. Now is the time, with Reiki energy, to move on from the memories of that relationship. Focus on the relationship you prefer, what you want in a partner.

When you think about what you want, give yourself space for the feeling to grow. Think of the Reiki Power symbol and ask for energy to make the perfect happen.

Concentrate your thoughts on the flow of emotions about this new, perfect relationship you want in your life. If you are so wounded by a past relationship that they release you, let yourself feel your way through feelings that accompany the new relationship you want to manifest. Notice if you are a follower or a leader in the relationship. Are you comfortable with the role you are playing? Do you feel appreciated and valued in this relationship?

Let Reiki bring to you the feeling of activities and adventure. What are you doing? Why are you doing what you are doing? Are you appreciated your participation, appreciated by yourself and by who you are taking part with?

Sometimes we devote time, energy, and maybe money to things we are barely enjoying to be with someone we think we should be with. It is alright for two people to do things separately but they need to express this to each other so that one does not feel the other is shutting them out.

Use Reiki to energize the good relationships in your life and send energy to the relationship you wish to manifest in your life.

Bring the session to a close and end it with a few moments concentrating on the Reiki power symbol. Slowly come out of your thoughts and rejoin the world of nature around you in the present moment, in the NOW.

Next, take a note book and write your feelings write your reactions. Some will be simple sentences recording what took place and your reactions. Take special note of the relationships that need to end, and those that have ended but you have yet to let go of. Add extra note son, how and when you will truly release these from your life.

We are what we Eat

We are what we eat is a familiar saying. Very often it is used in connection how a person appears and their diet. It sounds obvious to say that to a person who is overweight and eats a lot of fattening foods is a reflection of that lifestyle. Or, to a person who is trim and lean and has a healthy diet.

Food is a vital requirement of the physical body. In the simplest sense, our body is a physical, biological, machine, it requires, air to support combustion, food as fuel to be broken down into all manner of chemicals useful to our bodies. Water to help move things through our digestion system, and support our blood, which is 90% water, deliver nutrients to the muscles and tissues.

Food supports us, but not all of it brings good things for us. Cookies and ice cream are much more fin when we layer some ice cream on to one and then sandwich the ice cream with a second cookie on top. But does a layering of vegetables, one o top of the other doesn’t seem quite so inviting.

There was a time when I used to “eat healthy” because I wanted to be slim, strong and athletic. I did this partly for myself, so that I felt good and could participate in all the exercise events I was attracted to, and because I felt, that as a Spinning instructor, I should look the part.

One of the secrets to my desire to be slim, strong, and fit was that I didn’t want to carry a lot of weight around as I exercised. It seemed such a waste of effort so if I restricted my diet only to the “healthy” foods and ate nutritiously, to meet that picture of the image I had of myself.

But then things get repetitious. There seems to be little variety in our lives. I was eating the same thing for breakfast over and over again, for months at a time because of the “rightness” of the food to meet the goals I had set for myself. When I went out with friends for a meal, I scanned not though the menu items I wanted to have, but what I felt I should eat to maintain my fitness and shape goals.

I am a guy so you may laugh at the last paragraph if you are a woman, because we all hear a lot about women saying they eat for the shape they feel they are expected to have and not for what they want.

The essence of comfort food when I was growing up was to have something my mother had baked. I knew that I could have a piece of chocolate, but handmade, at home was the best! That was where comfort food was meant to be eaten. Of course, as I grew up and eventually eft home, there was no home-made comfort food anymore. I discovered ice cream; premium ice cream was a good substitute. It was a way to think back to home and my mother’s knowledge and ability in the making of desert pies. Ice cream was a way to bring back those memories because her pies were always better with a scoop, or two, of ice cream.

Some foods became a way to recall the past, to live the look and taste of certain foods. When I shop in the freezer section and look at the ice cream those memories come flooding back, those desires and feelings about the past. You can have a little of everything you desire food wise, but you will enjoy it more if it is in moderation. Don’t dwell in the past, trying to relive the tastes and experiences of times gone by, with people that are no longer with us.

Reiki offers a connection, a worry-free connection to our inner selves, the past as well as help prepare us for the future.

Take some time each day to practice Reiki. Sit still and quiet. Away from the rushing of life, and call on your Reiki guides to calm you and bring peace to you. Be patient. Depending on how intense your busy mind is, it may take longer some days than others. Allow the stillness and quiet to work through your body. As you become at peace with yourself, let your mind dwell where it wants to.

If you have been looking in the freezer section at the ice cream and remembering the scoops piled onto a slice of freshly baked desert pie, let your presence remember that and all the other things that went with that pie. Those pies that came out of a kitchen from a mother who believed in cooking with what is in season. Strawberries, my favourite, were not in season in December. They were in season in the summer and with them, hot summer days and activities outdoors.

Draw the Reiki symbols you are most closely attached to over the object you are thinking about. If it is a desert pie with ice cream, that is fine. But allow your thoughts to encompass all that object comes with. The outdoor activities, in the sun, with nature growing and abundant, all at the same time.

Now as the image of the things you have been thinking of fade back into your memories, allow reiki to come to the fore. It was a part of your life them, but you did not know it. Now you know it is a part of your life today, bring the symbols to the front of your thoughts.

With Reiki there is a spiritual quality as well as a mental and intellectual side. Let it guide you to what you need to learn and practice next. Do you need a reiki session with a Reiki teacher, do you need a new book about some new aspect of Reiki? Do you need a new book to delve deeper into the meaning of something? Do you need to practice something you read about?

Then, ask Reiki to help you understand and experience what you have already learned. Practice makes perfect they say, but it also makes things more meaningful. Now is the time, use your energies to understand and enjoy the meaning of what you have learned. Learn how to build it into your life, your everyday life. Let it be different and evolve as you move forward. Let it help you look back, not just on the desert pies and ice cream but also where you have been and where you are now in your practice of Reiki and understanding the gifts it brings to you, very day.

New Moon Manifestation

A New Moon is about energy, new things, and new starts. Power and new beginnings speak to the manifestation of an event, action, or object. A new moon is a special event; even if you cannot see it, it will be retroceded in your calendar. Usually, there is a new moon each calendar month; however, because our Gregorian calendar and the astronomical events are not entirely aligned, some calendar months may have more than one Moon.

All these new moons are opportunities. Opportunities to connect with ourselves and spend time thinking about how we want to partner with the New Moon’s energy. In doing so, we engage with not just ourselves but also our higher being.

If you have a garden, or open space near you, carrying out the ceremony of partnering with the New Moon energy is best down outside, especially if you have a clear vision of the night sky, which itself is magical.

To conduct the ceremony inside, clear some space!

You do not need a lot of space, but the clutter of your life should not be around. That clutter is disorganized remnants of your past life; yes, they represent what is left off or did not manifest last week, last month, last year.

Moonstone, funnily enough, is the gemstone that represents the Moon. It means new beginnings; it also speaks to inner strength and growth. If you can, buy one, cleanse it of other spirits that have handled it in the smoke of a White Sage smudging bundle and keep it to use in your New Moon ritual.

After clearing the space physically, light a smudging bundle or stick of White Sage and use the smoke to remove the area spiritually. Add to the smudging smoke by drawing Reiki symbols with it if you are attuned.

Some people will light a candle in this space, but turning down the room lights if you can be just fine.

Sit quietly and clear your mind; stop that busy, egoic mind that is constantly combating your inner peace. Think of all the Reiki symbols you are attuned to and what they represent. If you have a pen and paper, draw them out and put not labels but their attributes next to them. Consider them and concentrate on them.

Now change the focus of your mind to what it is you wish to manifest. Start with yourself—your body, your mind, people and pets that are close to you. Think of health. You can think of continuing good health, or you can think of what it is you wish to heal. Let your mind have free reign in this space and time.

Think of what you want to manifest in terms of what you want to change rather than specific objectives—for example, a broken ankle. You may have been told by a doctor how long it will take to heal, what it means for your future mobility etc.

For manifestation, think of removing pain, knitting together tendons and sines that the break has damaged. Bone’s break, but it is the strength they give you to be mobile and enjoy life. It is essential to think of what you have enjoyed that previously solid bone[s] gave you.

If you have pen and paper, write out these feelings and desires. It is an affirmation you are setting out Infront of you.

This is a positive action, a positive affirmation.

There is nothing negative to write, nothing negative to think about or affirm. Thinking of what is lacking, restrictions to mobility you may have been told you will face after the healing has ended sets up barriers and creates negativity within you, and that starts to manifest in what you think you can do. If you feel you cannot do something, it will be more complicated than you think when you try. If you try at all, instead think about what you will be able to do when you succeed.

Draw Reiki symbols in the margin of the paper you are writing on. Draw them at the top of what you are writing and at the end.

Clear the moonstone and lay it on the paper. Let the energy of the stone impart itself in your writing and the intentions you have written there.

Draw Reiki symbols in the air the moonstone.

Roll the paper up and put it away. That roll is your message to the universe to be carried and infused with the energy of the New Moon.

Take a few moments to sit quietly and thank all your angels and guides that help you through life. Sit and prepare with them for the month ahead, the month the New Moon will shine down on.

A Healthy Mindset… in Difficult Times

2020 and now 2021 have been difficult years for all of us but in different ways.

The pandemic has kept us inside and away from people and places we used to go to regularly. Even if it’s only the gym or a favourite breakfast restaurant, we have lost our freedom to move and do what we want. Inevitably, this causes stress, but in the end, it is our health and the people at home who live with us that need protecting the most.

And yet, there are other years and times in our lives when we have encountered similar disruptive years. There are those years when we have carried the burden of family illnesses and loss of loved ones after long battles with terminal cancer, degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease, or just old age. As painful as these things are to see, they represent just a part of our daily lives.

So, when our lives as a whole are disrupted, can we stay on an even keel?

The first is to recognize how you feel about what is happening. Difficult times generate difficult emotions and feelings. Do not try to hide them or hide from the senses. Recognize the feelings and how you feel about the feelings that have manifested. Being frustrated and then being frustrated at how you think that way will not benefit you, but you need to understand the two different feelings and why they are there.

Give yourself a break from how you feel. You may not know anyone who feels the same as you but understand you are part of the human condition, as is everyone else, and there will be others like you, handling the same way and perhaps for the same reasons. So, be gentle with yourself and do not let things build up to a point where you cannot tolerate the compounding feelings. By being soft on yourself, you diffuse the negative energy in the feelings you have.

Exercise is good for the body; we all know that. Physical movement, gentle or intense, helps move muscles and blood and sends signals to the brain that reduce anxiety and focus your mind on something repetitive and familiar. Walking is a basic human form of locomotion and a way to get from one place to another. Running is walking speeded up. Working in the garden is not just exercise but being out in nature. Connecting with nature, helping plants grow that bees can pollinate or take nectar from.

What you do not want to do is become overly competitive in your exercise. Competitiveness is a form of stress, maybe a good one for some, but it can be destructive if they do not have the ability or capability to better themselves on successive days.

If you have loved ones around you, pets count as loved ones. Make sure you spend time with them, listen to them, watch their body language, and become more familiar with them and their feelings and concerns. You will benefit from the more profound knowledge and benefit from expressing themselves and know they are being listened to.

While you are listening to and learning about your loved ones, now is also the time to spend time alone, intentionally to learn about self, your hopes and dreams, your goals and past things in your life that have deep meaning for you. Examine them, and understand why. You may say that the pandemic is forcing you to be by yourself but consider this. What I am saying is purposeful and intentional, and it is voluntary, an excellent voluntary. It is for you and is not imposed on you.

Lastly, if you have a connection to a Reiki professional, ask for a remote or distance Reiki session for yourself. Reiki does not have to be done in person; the remote session is valuable or sometimes more valuable because it happens at home in your space. There are no physical distractions of another person.

Be well, stay safe. Above all, look at this time as a new way to live, interact and be yourself. Use this time to love yourself free from the distractions of having to be somewhere, with someone or for someone other than you.

Keeping your Happiness

Every day we have something to be happy for. We are alive, and our partners, our friends and our pets are alive. We may also get a seat on the bus or the train; we have food and water, we discover a new coffee shop, or the car comes back from the mechanic, and there is less cost than we thought as not so much had to be repaired.

There is all manner of things to be grateful for.

We need to reinforce the success of things we are grateful for, and to do that; the best thing is to write them down. There is a connection between the physical act of writing and the intention and thoughts that drive our hand to form the letters that make the words and give birth to our ideas on a piece of paper.

The piece of paper should not have a date or time on it. It is not essential when the events you are recording that made you happy occurred. It is that they did, and you are recording it.

Some people will cut the piece of paper into strips or small sections and store them in a shoebox or a jar—something that can be looked at or into. Looking in the shoebox or the jar and taking out a piece of paper and reading it, looking again at the happiness described on it reinforces both the joy expressed on the piece of paper and the gratitude for the happy events you recorded.

When do you take out a pen and paper to record happy events and the gratitude you feel? Well, it can be anywhere, anytime. You don’t; even have to write it on paper when it first happened. Let’s say you receive a promotion or some form of recognition. You can take out your smartphone, open the Note Taking app, and record your feelings of happiness and gratitude. Later, when you get home, you can write that note out on a piece of paper and put the paper in the shoebox or jar.

Infuse the happiness and gratitude stored in eth shoebox or jar with Reiki. Reiki energy will not only recognize the joy and gratitude in your thoughts when you wrote on your piece of paper. It will help you manifest the happier events to record on pieces of paper and will help you manifest good things to manifest. It will help you recognize and be grateful for what you have, not what you think you need. Because when you manifest good things in your life, change takes place.

That change is within you, it is within your life, and an abundance of good things has a positive impact on you and takes your thoughts away from negative thoughts and unhappiness.

If You Allow something to continue, it will!

By something, I mean internal anger. Anger within yourself at what you have done or not done or what you have allowed to continue. Continue and anger are the key words here.

Even if a relationship is doing you no god and you end it, or allow it to end. There can be anger within yourself at why you allowed it to continue for so long.

I look back at times when I have decided I will move on from a place, people or things but am left angry at myself and memories of the situation. That anger can last a lifetime, if you will let it. The fact is, when things do not go well, or according to plan, as if often the case, we can still be angry at ourselves for letting it happen in the first place.

Reiki can be a great healer if you will let it. It can help to lighten your spirits and put the things that are bugging you into perspective and eventually to rest. Reiki lets you see the real truth and what you have learned from it but not recognised.

If you are attuned to Reiki, by all means preform self-Reiki for this, it is important to allow the session or sessions proceed as you are guided to. There is no format except to:

  • Give yourself the quiet time necessary to allow Reiki to flow within yourself. This can be in the morning or the evening.
  • I find it best to allow Reiki to heal all that needs to be healed. If I have a physical problem, such as a bad back or a sore ankle include this in the self-Reiki session and ask for the physical to be healed along with the emotional.
  • Reiki is intelligent energy and will go where it is needed and heal what is ailing you
  • Be patient. Emotional issues may take longer to heal than that sore ankle. Emotional issues can be caught up with the egoic mind, that never ending trouble maker that likes to dwell on problems and churn them over and over again.
  • The cause of your anger may not be immediately apparent. You just seem to be angry at everything and everyone. Et Reiki draw it out so you can see t and work on it. You cannot work on healing something that you do not know is the cause.

One of the most important things in working with your emotional anger is to allow Reiki to take its course. It may not heal your anger immediately; it may take several self-healing sessions. Each session becoming progressively different as differing aspects of your anger surface and need to be dealt with.

One of the aspects that needs to be dealt with is whether you are generating anger at people around you, or, giving them permission to be angry at you for what you are inflicting on them. This external manifestation can be on family members, pets, and relatives. They mirror back the hurt and anger you are pushing out to them, which in turn amplifies your internal anger.

As you are able to deal with your internal anger, so less will be directed outward and reflected back to you. Reducing your overall level of anger. Allow this to progress naturally.

As balance returns and anger diminishes, continue with your self-Reiki sessions!

A reduction in the anger that has been inside of you is not removal of it. You may never remove it entirely, some of it may have gone on for too long or been too hurtful but you can reduce it so that you no longer send out waves of anger and receive it reflected back to you. The point to to achieve balance withing yourself and for anger not to be a part of the balance.

Be relaxed enough to accept a Reiki session from another Reiki professional, a remote Reiki session works well for this. Why, because the connection between you and an in-person session and a remote session differs. The in-person session brings another person physically and emotionally close to you, and if you are still radiating anger, you can generate anger to the person in the room with you. A remote reiki professional will not receive that anger, and they and you will not have to work with their presence. It will be pure Reiki energy.

Let Reiki embrace you and defuse that anger within you. Only if you let it continue will it, take action with Reiki to diffuse it and being anger to an end.

This week…

Sometimes, small steps are better than trying to create big leaps. In our lives, we move from day to day, week to week. The big life changing events do happen, they happen when you least expect them. But, after the weekend, Monday morning and the rest of the week lay in front of you and it is easier to concentrate on what will happen for the rest of the first day of the week than that life changing event you are hopping for.

Dr. Usui set out the five principals of Reiki and they can help us on Monday morning, and every morning to get us through the day and the week ahead.

The five principals start off with the words… “Just for today.”

Use these words as the start of the affirmations that speak to the day ahead, the week ahead. And as you get practised in recognising what you are affirming, the thoughts will become easier and you will recognise yourself in them. Let’s try a few sentences of what I mean, and, if you are attuned to Reiki, visualize the Reiki Power symbol, Chokurey and connect it to your affirmation to give them energy and purpose.

  • Just for today I will live in the moment, in the NOW, of the moment. If it is the start of the workday, I will not be wishing for lunchtime to arrive, or, the end of the day. NOW is the most important thing to me because this is where I am, sitting, standing, walking, breathing…
  • Just for today I will be at peace. Being at peace will allow your thoughts to be peaceful. If this sounds strange there can be a disconnect between your thoughts and emotions. If there is a line up at the copier, come back when you think the line will be shorter or there will be no line at all. Do not be angry at the people in the line, do not be frustrated. Do not let thoughts of what will happen to your plans for work because you cannot get the copies you want at that moment.
  • Just for today I will enjoy the world around you that you see and smell and hear in the moment, in the NOW of the moment. If it is spring, there will be birds singing their mating songs. Appreciate the songs but also appreciate what they mean. The birds are singing their song to attract a mate and start a family, to continue their existence.
  • Just for today I will appreciate myself. I woke up! My life and existence and gathering of experiences will continue.
  • Just for today I will be happy that I woke up, even if I am challenged in some way. Perhaps I don’t walk as fast as other people. Maybe I do not hear or see, or speak as well, but I am happy for the abilities I do have.
  • Just for today I will be grateful for the moment, the NOW, but also the time that will pass while I appreciate each moment. Personally, I have found that while I am absorbed thinking about the moment, the moment seems to eb longer and gives something back to me recognizing and appreciating it.
  • Just for today I will recognise how important my partner is to me.
  • Just for today I will recognize how important my friends are to me.
  • Just for today I will recognize how important my family are to me.
  • Just for today I will recognise how important my pets and animals who share my life are to me.

Just for today I will spend some time meditating focusing on only myself, what is inside of me and what makes me so special.

Healing Relationships

Healing Relationships

Life gives us many things and takes some away. Deliberately or not, we move forward looking, hoping for more good things than bad.

It is impossible to see the future, the future that actually arrives, not the one we hope for. The difference can be subtle, it can be serious. We want a red car, but we get a blue one. We want a new one, a real new one, not one that has been sat in, bumped into, and repaired by unknown mechanics before. We hope for new furniture, but cannot afford what we think we need. Instead, we get what we need.

Relationships are somewhat of the same thing. The person who enters our lives may not be the one we dream of, but he or she is what we need for our souls, our life path purpose. But it is not just us that they have an effect on. Our existing friends, family members and acquaintances are all affected by that new person who arrives.

Through the people around us, we learn how to relate toothers, how to feel about others, and make judgements. All of these emotions and mental and spiritual patterns we carry with us through our lives.

These patterns help or hinder us in life and give rise to wanted and unwanted results. Learning to understand our traits and which ones need to change, which ones need to evolve, and those that are “just right” is part of life and what we are here, in this physical container called a body, to learn. At the end of our lives, the manifestation of what we have learned and changed, or not makes up the balance of our karma and how we will be reincarnated into the next life.

Taking a moment of peace and quiet, mediated by Reiki will help you understand where is the balance of your existing relationships, and prepare yourself for the next.

When looking at the balance of your existing relationships, look at what it is you need to let go. Is what you need to let go within you or within them?

If the imbalance is within you, pay attention to thoughts of letting go resentment, bad feelings and old hurts that you are carrying with you that only drag you down. This is a time to release so that you have the energy to be open to new experiences, people, and feelings.

If the imbalance is in them, and they are passing it on to you, do you have to have that person in your life? Do they have to be so close to you? As much as we may dislike letting people fade away, sometimes it is necessary, and beneficial.

People come into our lives to bring things to us and let us share experiences. Good or bad, we have to decide which it is. We have to take charge of the relationship, we need to, have to, do what is best for ourselves. We have to recognise when we are being drained by a relationship that is not good for us. At one time it may have been beneficial to us, but times have changed, we have changed and the other person has changed. We cannot control their behaviour or feelings, or the way they express themselves to us. When we refuse to recognise how a relationship has changed and how it is affecting us, we are blocking new people, new experiences from coming in to our life because we are devoting time and energy to something that does not benefit us.

When we devote energy to something that does not benefit us, we do not have the energy for something good, nourishing, and beneficial. Beneficial not just for you, but for the other person as well.

If you are attuned to Reiki, then calling on your Reiki Guides and allowing the energy to flow through you is something you are familiar with. Ficus that energy on to your feelings, your intuition and look at the future of when the relationship is healed you are healed. Look at a time when not only are you healed but you are also free to receive new experiences, new people and new happiness.

While you are considering being happy and at peace with the healed relationship. Spare a moment and think of the other person. They too will receive healing, some form of healing. It will be unique to their needs and need not be what you receive, but be pleased for them. Release is a two-way street. To you, from them, and from you to them.

At the end of the session, concentrate on the feelings of openness and energy to receive new experiences, people, places, and pets.

Peace and Trauma

Even the smallest thing can be called traumatic. I shut my hand in the car door a few years ago and had to deal with the pain and injury for weeks after. Later, I broke the handle on another door on the car and had to order and install a new one. It took weeks to arrive, all the time I could not use the door o the car. It was a worry and a frustration.

These may seem small things but one was physical, the hurt to my hand, and the other emotional and mental, the frustration of waiting for the handle to arrive.

Depression, anxiety, frustration or negative feelings can have a big effect on your ability to function in daily life. Do you struggle vent frustration and anger easily? Or do you assume that what just went wrong is as it is meant to be, for you! Do you feel you don’t deserve any better?

Reiki is the fundamental energy of the universe. Embrace Reiki and learn about it. It has come into your life at this moment for a reason, it is here to help you. Embrace and love that it has. Tale the next step and take Reiki classes with the intention, not hope, intention, that you will become attuned to Reiki. It is nice to practice and help others, but let’s start simply by becoming attuned so that you have a closer and deeper connection to this fundamental energy of life.

With Reiki attunement come Reiki guides who will help you use and understand Reiki Energy.

Call on these guides to help you to face the physical and emotional injuries. If you need to look at cause of these challenges your guides will help you. Old emotional hurts can be looked at and seen for what they are. They are events in the past that need to be closed. Perhaps a relationship did not go well and the ending was rather messy. Do not apportion blame for the ending, but look at what you learned from it. Then close it. It is history, it is a memory. Let it disappear and you move on with your learning. Cho Ku Rei is the Reiki power symbol. Use its energy to close the hurtful events and empower your learning so that you can move forward without the trauma of the past events.

Eckhart Tolle in his book NOW explains how to live in the moment, in the NOW. Do not live in the past or because of the past, live in the NOW. The learning you have form that past trauma can help you live successfully in the NOW, if you will let it.

If the trauma was from a failed relationship, one of your learnings should be that you will not repeat such a relationship again. Do not go back to that person and do not choose another with similar characteristics.

If you have written down what it is you want to manifest in your life, those are the happy and bright things you aspire to have. Now take time to write down some of the things you do not want. With past trauma closed and healed, solidify the meaning by describing it on paper so that you can see it in black and white.

When you are finished, and read it over. Take the paper and shred it, tear it up into tiny pieces, burn it. Feel the release of having looked at the trauma in cold black and white of ink and paper and consider how you have changed through Reiki energy and applying it to the memory and feelings of the original trauma.

Take another piece of paper and write about the NOW, the moment, where you are at. What you feel is holding you back and ask your Reiki guides to help you remove those blockages and heal those hurts, if they are hurts. Once hurt and trauma have been healed, what is left is often they created in you that magnifies the hurt. A failed relationship has two people in it [usually] but when you have healed the trauma with the help of Reiki, something can be left behind for example, blame. It can still linger in the form of being too ready to blame yourself or others for completely different and unrelated things. It is time to let go of those things as well.

Reiki, will help you through your daily existence as you experience every moment of NOW.

If you feel you want to go beyond yourself and help others with your Reiki guides and knowledge, do so. You will enjoy doing so.

The Caduceus

The Caduceus image
The caduceus is a Greek symbol used today to represent the practice of medicine. It depicts a staff with two snakes entwining around it from bottom to top.

Sushumna

The symbol is often used to describe the way in which the masculine and feminine energy channels or nadis coil around a central energy channel in the body, called Sushumna nadi.

The Sushumna nadi is the central channel of energy in the human body that runs from the base of the spine, it is situated at the perineum which is also known as Muladhara or Root Chakra to Brahmarandra which anatomically coincides with what is known as the fourth ventricle, the place where the cerebral spinal fluid governs transmittance of all.

The area incorporates the hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary glands. This is the Sahaswara or Crown Chakra of the head and carries Kundalini energy, the primal evolutionary force within, upwards as it is awakened through the practice of Yoga and meditation.

Sushumna nadi only opens and flows freely when Ida and Pingala nadis are balanced and clear, thus the purification of all three nadis are important for the overall health, wellness of the body and mind, and one can also experience spiritual growth.

Ida and Pingala each carry a different type of energy which supports a balance within our lifestyle, thoughts, actions, physical health etc.  Ida transports feminine energy (calm, cooling, meditative, receptive and centered – good for meditation) and Pingala transports masculine energy (active, energetic, heating, forceful – good for ‘getting things done). When you breathe out of your left nostril you tap into Ida’s energy and the right nostril for channeling Pingala energy.  *According to yogic belief, we all tend to breath out of one nostril at different times of the day depending on which or our Nadi’s Ida or Pingala is dominant at the time. When we breathe out of both nostrils at the same time, we are activating the Sushumna Nadi.

Ida and Pingala are important to understand when working with the chakras as Ida can help to calm and dissipate an overloaded chakra while Pingala can help energize and open a blocked chakra.

Anahata said, “However, as a spiritualist, even though I personally enjoy all the technicalities of ancient wisdom and esoteric arts, I don’t obsess over them. If our spiritual urge or intent is aligned to infinite expansion of awareness, potentials and consciousness, to love, to higher principles of freedom and balance for the highest good of all, then any sincere spiritual practice, be it yoga or plant spirit medicine, drum medicine or reiki, should support this process effectively.
